As the world’s only crowd-sourced report on renewable energy, the Renewables Global Status Report (GSR) is in a class of its own. It covers policies, markets, and much more, while telling the most up-to-date global story on renewable energy.
Since 2005, the GSR has worked with its many contributors to put the spotlight on ongoing developments and emerging trends that shape the future of renewable energy. Renewables 2024 Global Status Report
The 2024 edition comprises 5 modules: Global Overview, Energy Demand, Energy Supply, Energy Systems & Infrastructure, and Economic & Social Value Creation.
The first released module – Global Overview – provides high-level trends on the status of renewables in the wider fossil fuel-dominated energy system in the context of global challenges such as climate change, development goals and the geopolitical landscape.
The second module – Energy Demand – outlines key trends on the status of renewables in different energy demand sectors with dedicated chapters on buildings, industry, transport and agriculture sectors.
The third module – Energy Supply – highlights uneven developments in renewable energy supply across energy carriers, regions and technologies. This module includes dedicated chapters on global trends in policy and investment, as well as market developments in renewable energy technologies.
