After participants of the conference had agreed to work together within a
global policy network for renewable energy, a very extensive consultation
process was undertaken in September and October 2004. Approximately 70
interested parties representing a variety of stakeholder groups (national
governments, regional and local authorities, international institutions,
the business and financial community, environment and development NGOs,
and others) were asked for their comments on the network. Collected in the
consultation report , the answers confirmed the need for the network and
provided many helpful ideas.
