Prior to the 2005 Beijing International Renewable Energy Conference (BIREC),
the Steering Committee came together for its third meeting.
In the
Chinese capital, the Steering Committee members discussed some of the
major activities to be undertaken by REN21 in the coming years.
Follow-up work on the highly-recognized Global Status Report and Bonn
International Action Programme were identified as central projects for
the Network. The reegle information gateway which REN21 is building in
cooperation with REEEP will also be a priority. The CSD 14/15-cycle will
make 2006-2007 a special opportunity to be seized for the global
promotion of renewable energies.
