Arrangement(s) for financing The City is already in liaison with various international development funding agencies, calling for funding mechanisms to be established. The City has already committed itself to the provision of renewable energy, depending on the outcome of an environmental impact assessment in this regard.
Monitoring process and time frame Wind based energy would be over a period of fifteen years and the introduction of solar water heaters over a period of five to ten years. Monitoring processes for these commitments require to be established.
Other relevant information The City hopes to finalise these targets within its Integrated Development Plan (IDP), which is the legislative long-term planning document, as well as to finalise these targets in the Cape Town Energy Strategy.
