Feed-in Tariff Handbook

The new Feed-in Tariff Handbook is now complete, and in production, due for publication in November. It is co-authored between Miguel Mendonca, David Jacobs and Benjamin Sovacool.

Building on the experience of the last few years of campaigning heavily on the subject, we have tried to include the most pertinent material for those arguing for and designing feed-in laws. It features much more detailed policy design, including for developing countries, and examples of good and bad, basic and advanced design options. There is material on how renewables and feed-in tariffs can fundamentally underpin a rapid, low-cost transition towards a sustainable society; we also cover technical, social and political barriers, we compare FITs with other support schemes from around the world, and round off with a detailed chapter on how to successfully campaign for a national feed-in law.

It is our intention that this book will help advocates and policymakers to push for better renewables legislation, and provide the most solid and up-to-date picture of renewables policy that we can. Academics, students, grassroots groups and the interested public will all be able to take something concrete from the work, and we have written it to be as accessible as possible. It will be released in paperback and hardback simultaneously, and can be pre-ordered at the Earthscan website.
