REN21 is the international partner to the governments hosting the International Renewable Energy Conferences (IREC). Through the IREC series, REN21 helps move the international policy agenda on renewable energy forward and enhance collaboration with stakeholder groups. This year, REN21 is supporting the Government of India in organising the Delhi International Renewable Energy Conference – DIREC 2010.
REN21 Networking Area
A REN21 Networking Area will be located at the DIREC conference venue, on the 2nd floor. Here, the REN21 community will:
- Present their products and activities
- Have the opportunity to invite DIREC delegates to meet and exchange experiences
- Identify key partners and explore possibilities for collaboration.
Indian Renewable Energy Status Report
As a background paper for DIREC 2010, the Indian Renewable Energy Status Report provides a comprehensive review of the current status of renewable energy deployment and policies in India, differentiated by technology, from the national to regional level. It covers topics ranging from resource potential, existing installations, policy landscape, industry trends, finance and investment, as well as rural energy. The report, coordinated by REN21, is a joint publication of NREL, IRADe, BTI, GTZ and REN21.
Delhi International Action Programme DIAP
DIREC 2010 will also feature the Delhi International Action Programme DIAP, also known as the Renewables Pledge Programme.
The Government of India, together with REN21, encourage delegates to pledge bold initiatives, policy targets, and programmes to scale up renewable energy and address the triple climate, development, and energy challenge. REN21 will manage the DIAP Pledge Office at the DIREC venue, Glass cubicles at the 1st floor.
